Welcome to Pankisi Horse Riding
Pankisi Horse Riding was born from a shared love of horses, mountains, and the unique culture of Pankisi Valley.
Since 2019, we have been welcoming riders from around the world to explore one of Georgia’s most authentic and undiscovered regions. Our tours take you beyond the typical tourist trail and into the heart of the Caucasus Mountains, where horses remain an important part of everyday life.
At the centre of every experience is our local Kist team, led by Mukhmad, a lifelong horseman who grew up riding these valleys and mountain trails. His connection to the land, the horses, and the traditions of Pankisi shapes every journey we offer. What began with a small herd and a passion for sharing his homeland has grown into a trusted riding operation that welcomes guests from across the globe.

Our Approach
We keep our tours personal and authentic. Small groups, experienced local guides, well-cared-for horses, and genuine cultural connections allow us to create experiences that feel less like a commercial tour and more like being welcomed into our community.
Whether you’re joining us for a one-day ride through the valley, a multi-day mountain adventure, or a horseback journey into the remote regions of Tusheti and beyond, our goal is simple: to share the landscapes, horses, and culture that we love in a way that is safe, memorable, and meaningful.
We look forward to welcoming you to Pankisi Valley and sharing the experience with you.
The Horses
Our horses are more than working animals, they are part of our family. Raised in the mountains and accustomed to the rugged terrain of the Caucasus, they are calm, sure-footed, and well suited to both experienced riders and beginners. We carefully match each guest with a horse to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
